Assistant Professor of International Relations

University of Mississippi

My research and teaching interests include international and comparative political economy, armed conflict, interstate alliances and the domestic roots of foreign policy.

My primary research agenda explores how government fiscal constraints influence policy regarding domestic and internal security. Touching on a broader theme of exploring the economic motivations behind political action, I also examine questions regarding sovereign creditworthiness, alliance politics, international trade, economic crises, labor rights and foreign aid.
